The idea of the “home of the future” usually contrasts with the idea of environmental responsibility. The perception of technology being detrimental to ecologicial stability is slowly being replaced with the advent of smart technologies such as Suspended Particle Device or SPD glass.

What is SPD Glass?

In the area of light control, there are three main technologies: polymer liquid crystal devices (PDLC), suspended particle devices (SPD) and Electro chromic devices (EC). All three may be used to produce smart glass, which is described as a glass that can change its light transmission when a voltage is applied. In a nutshell these technologies control the opacity of glass via a control method (sensors, remotes, wall switches etc) to regulate the amount of light allowed to pass through it. SPD is generally the technology of choice for use in external or solar control windows because of its reliability, price, performance, and manufacturing advantages and aesthetics.

Energy and Lighting Costs

In terms of home and office environment SPD glass facades, windows and skylights can be used to more efficiently reduce the need for air conditioning during the summer months and heating during winter.

The ability to instantly switch the glass to maximize daylight when it’s really needed and to provide controllable solar shading during peak light conditions is valuable and unique. SPD Glass has even advanced to the stage where light sensors can automatically adjust the opacity of the glass according to programmed settings. This low energy electric current saves overall temperature control and lighting costs and also reduced carbon emissions related to building maintenance.

Hygiene and Health

These SPD glass panels provide a hygienic alternative to curtains and blinds as they do not trap bacteria, grime and dust. Easily cleaned surfaces mean both a savings on cleaning agents and a cleaner environment for homeowners and building owners. Taking advantage of healthy natural lighting without the glare is the smart way to reduce eye strain and protect the skin from UV damage.

Maintenance savings

Professionally manufactures Suspended Particle Device technologies such as SPD glass utilise a highly durable, solid-state technology with no moving parts to wear out or break. Sun damage such a fading carpets, artwork and furniture is also greatly reduced making your interiors last longer. If you combine this interior longevity with the longevity of the physical glass itself you have a winning combination for your pocket and for the environment.

Smart Glass International has mastered suspended particle Devices with its SPD Glass Solar Control range. http://www.smartglassinternational.com

Will green mobile phones truly catch on? Will greener manufacturing processes develop so that every mobile phone is made from recycled materials or plastic bags? Or is it just a well oiled fad in the history of mobile phone design.

I believe we are at the cusp of a new order, whereby the cost of looking for new resources from fields far away, could become so expensive that the digging for virgin raw materials for just a mobile phone could be outlawed; when the materials are so already readily available above ground. With the all round cost of cradle to grave production rising and what with the Earth beginning to look like a garden with a family of gophers let loose in it, the use of recycled materials looks a good economic and sustainable resource choice to me.

But just how feasible, would it be to produce a billion plus greener handsets from recycled plastics. Well in the UK alone we create 3 million tonnes of plastic waste a year, of which 56% is from waste packaging. Part of that amount comes the 17.5 billion plastic bags that are given away by supermarkets in the UK and as a nation we are increasing our plastic use by 4% a year! So the numbers are there.

Car manufacturers have to do it? They are legislated to look for new ways to reduce their environmental impact. So how long will it be before the manufacturers of music systems, TV’s, computers, fridges, washing machines all follow suit and start to advertise that their units are made from recycled materials? Could one imagine a future, where your guest presents their mobile phone to their friends at dinner parties proclaiming it doesn’t have recycled plastic parts - could this be a trophy phone?

At present, it’s possible that people see recycled plastic as second best, lower quality, not up to the mark, but the future of greener mobiles is the way forward. With better designs, improved network offerings, more information about sustainability is paving the way for resource survival.

Mobile Phones suffered the same derisory comments when they entered the marketplace when they first appeared when people were so used to land-phones, now Mobiles out-number their landlocked counterpart. Given time we can change to what’s best for us and the planet. Once the benefits outweigh the issues at hand, the change will be easy.

A green mobile phone is just the start, its part of the way in reducing your personal carbon footprint. Yes they are small steps towards a carbon free lifestyle, as recycling plastic makes major economic sense when you learn that it uses less energy and fewer resources. Its all about the concept of change, when the first mobiles came out in 1983 (DynaTAC 8000x) it weighed 1.8 lbs. The latest eco phone by Sony Ericcson weighs 120 grams? So yes, like it or not greener phones by design, construction and the new moral attitude are the way forward and are certainly here to stay.

Karl Sinclaire-Anderson loves new technologies, anything that helps us perform better about our day in the world. An MBA, he has been working in the green arena for 11 years. He is currently MD of Greenermobiles

The amount has risen since Saturday, and implies more than half the estimated 12,000 to 19,000 barrels leaking each day is now being captured.

The spill has been described as the biggest environmental disaster in US history.

Mr Hayward told the BBC that BP would restore the Gulf to its original state.

Speaking on the Andrew Marr Show, Mr Hayward said: “As we speak, the containment cap is producing around 10,000 barrels of oil a day to the surface.”

Asked what amount of the estimate that represented, the BP chief executive said it was expected to be “the majority, probably the vast majority” of the oil gushing out.

“We have a further containment system to implement in the course of this coming week which will be in place by next weekend so when those two are in place, we would very much hope to be containing the vast majority of the oil.”

His company, he said, was going to stop the leak and take care of the consequences.

“We’re going to clean up the oil, we’re going to remediate any environmental damage and we are going to return the Gulf coast to the position it was in prior to this event. That’s an absolute commitment, we will be there long after the media has gone, making good on our promises.”

But the man in charge of the federal efforts to cope with the spill said no-one should be pleased “as long as there’s oil in the water”.

Coast Guard Adm Thad Allen told CNN the spill was “an insidious enemy that’s attacking our shores”.

‘Nightmare’

The Deepwater Horizon rig sank on 20 April after an explosion, killing 11 workers.

Both BP and the US government have been criticised for the response so far.

President Barack Obama has pledged to stand with the residents of Louisiana until they are “made whole”.

Mr Obama has said he will ensure that BP is financially accountable for the damaged caused.

The containment cap is designed to funnel most of the leaking oil to a boat on the surface. It will be followed by a further containment system that involves using the pipes of a failed, previous operation to divert more oil to another vessel; and by a separate method - due to be in place by the end of this month - which is expected to be able to operate in hurricane conditions.

BP is also digging two relief wells which it hopes will provide a permanent solution to the leak - but they are not due to be completed until August.

The estimates for the total amount of oil that has leaked since the spill began vary widely from 20 million to 45 million gallons.

Four states have so far been affected by the spill - Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida.

The oil risks affecting some of the famous white beaches of Florida, whose economy is heavily dependent on tourism.

One-third of the Gulf’s federal waters remain closed to fishing, and the spill has killed and injured birds and marine animals.

“These waters are my backyard, my life,” boat captain Dave Marino from Myrtle Grove, Louisiana, told AP news agency. “It’s a nightmare. It looks like it’s going to be wave after wave of it and nobody can stop it.”

The oil has steadily spread east, and there are fears it could devastate the shoreline with the hurricane season coming up.

BP, whose share price has dropped by a third since the accident, has been coming under fire for spending a reported $50m on TV advertising to improve its image while the crisis was still going on.

BP says it has spent more than $1bn so far on clean-up and containment efforts since the Deepwater Horizon rig accident.

The government should more carefully and publicly review the environmental impact of genetically altered plants before approving them and, to detect unforeseen problems, should monitor fields even after such crops are being grown commercially, a panel of biologists and agricultural scientists concluded yesterday.

On the other hand, my remarks on certain limitations to physics should caution us that we must not expect a totally objective measure for assessing achievements in physics. In order to find such measures, the “citation index” is sometimes invoked. This index shows by which other author a certain paper has been quoted, and one might thus hope to find how much impact that paper has had on scientific development. One quickly realizes, however, that such a method is not entirely reliable. For instance, as one may discover, there are “citation clubs”, in which scientists quote only each other and omit references to any other relevant publication, if its author does not belong to that specific club. The referencing system of journals may have added to the development of “citation clubs”.

The panel, convened by the National Academy of Sciences, said the Department of Patek Philippe Replica Agriculture had not missed any big environmental risks in its review of genetically modified plants, a step required before the plants can be either field-tested or grown for marketing. The scientists also emphasized that their findings were intended to “improve an already functioning system,” and noted that “the standards being set for transgenic crops are much higher than for their conventional counterparts. But, they said, biotechnology companies are rapidly developing new plants containing either combinations of genes, or individual genes that induce the plant to produce industrial chemicals, fuels and other materials. These efforts, the panel said, will require much more rigorous testing and review than the government currently undertakes.

Other crop types, produced by monogenetic means, can pose environmental risks as well, the panel said. But it said the public had demanded, and should be granted, an extra level of precaution when organisms are genetically engineered. The panel’s report, a summary of which was described yesterday in The Wall Street Journal, was requested by the Agriculture Department and took two years to produce. It concluded that the testing and assessment of genetically altered plants should be made “significantly more transparent and rigorous,” with reviews by independent panels of experts, with more involvement of the public and with less secrecy. It noted that companies seeking permission to Tag Heuer Replica commercialize genetically altered plants in the United States were allowed to keep much more data confidential than in other countries.

Officials of the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service, an Agriculture Department agency that issues permits for genetically modified crops, said the study validated their current program while pointing to areas to improve. Bobby Accord, administrator of the inspection service, said the agency was already “considering how best to further encourage public comment and receive broader scientific input.” Companies producing bioengineered crops echoed the agricultural officials, pointing to the report’s qualified endorsement of the existing regulatory system. “They make a number of suggestions for enhancing that process, but they make it very clear that a rigorous assessment is being done,” said Dr. Eric Sachs, a geneticist who is director of scientific affairs for Monsanto.

Alliance Group has a commitment to the environment through an implementation of green practices in all of its business operations & the promotion of Florida Green Certified homes.

With the BP oil spill in the gulf it has made us all think a little more about energy conservation and protecting our environment. Being Green is the smart thing to do and you can start doing your part now with 10 simple tips to make your home a little more green.

10 Tips to a Greener Home

Appliances. Updating your home’s appliances to Energy Star Qualified appliances could save you as much as $150 per year in energy costs. Appliance usage makes up 18% of a household energy bill and the newer, EPA approved appliances use 10% - 50% less energy and water than older models.

Heating/Cooling. Our warm climate on Florida’s west coast results in air conditioners running most of the year and as a result, almost half of a home’s energy consumption is from heating and cooling. Keeping your thermostat set at 68 degrees and cooler in the winter and 78 degrees and warmer in the summer saves 3% - 5% in energy. A programmable thermostat helps maintain these temperatures.

Water. With an annual dry season, water conservation on Florida’s suncoast is a must. There are several ways to conserve water in your household. Using an aerator on all faucets can cut annual water consumption by 50% and a low flow toilet uses only 1.6 gallons per flush, compared to 3.5 gallons used in older models. Also changing water usage habits help as well; turning off the water when you brush your teeth will save 4.5 gallons of water each time.

Cleaning. Use cleaning supplies that have eco-friendly, rather than toxic ingredients. Read labels and look for products that contain grain alcohol rather than toxic butyl cello solve (window cleaners) and plant oils rather than petroleum (detergents).

Lighting. Replace your incandescent light bulbs with Compact Fluorescent Light bulbs (CFLs) that use 66% less energy and last up to 10 times longer. This change alone can also save you $30 in energy costs over the life of the bulb.

Paper. Look for greeting cards, toilet paper and many other paper products that are made “tree-free” with 100% post-consumer recycled paper or unbleached paper (the bleaching process creates harmful byproducts).

Flooring. Instead of hardwood floors that use woods from trees that take 50 - 100 years to mature, use bamboo which replenishes itself rather quickly, maturing in 4 - 6 years. Also look for products and installations that use glue that does not contain formaldehyde.

Plastic. The processing and burning of petroleum-made plastics is considered one of the main contributors to global warming. Polyethylene plastic grocery bags and water bottles filling up our landfills increase greenhouse gasses. Bring re-usable cloth bags with you to the stores and ditch the plastic water bottles for refillable bottles.

Paint. According to the EPA, conventional paints contain solvents, toxic metals and volatile organic compounds that are released into the air while you’re painting, while the paint dries and even after the paint is dry that cause smog, ozone pollution and indoor air quality problems. Most paint manufacturers now offer zero or minimally toxic paint options.

Gardening. Use compost for fertilization which provides all of the soil organisms and nutrients needed for healthy soil without the chemicals in synthetic commercial fertilizers. Healthy soil also minimizes the growth of weeds, which in turn prevents pest problems, reducing the need to control both. Better methods include using organic pest control products including diatomaceous earth to kill insects, using beer to bait slugs and pouring boiling water on weeds. Also, use native plants in your landscaping as much as possible because they need less water and attention.

The problem with recycled plastics in green mobile phones is the word ‘recycled’. When I think of recycled, I can’t help but think of other words - less than, not quite as good as a normal mobile phone; not getting quality for my money? This is far from the truth, because an eco designed mobile phone is at the forefront of its industry when you look at the moral concern, the new design ideas and improved environmental production practices that go into the construction of this new order of phones.

I don’t have enough space to show the worlds consumption of plastic, but in the UK, to give you an idea, we are given some 17.5 billion plastic bags a year at the checkouts of supermarket? For the most part they end up in landfill sites, but with a degradation life of nearly a nuclear isotope, throwing them away doesn’t make much sense. How many times have you seen a bag floating along by the side of the road or in a park, or caught in a tree, Yuk. But no more, as they can be reused, they can have a 2nd and 3rd life and more, as plastic can be recycled up to six times. And in Europe we are thinking more this way, as in 2006 reused plastics reached 50%.

I don’t want to make plastic out to be such an ogre, even the second best alternatives to plastic would increase our world energy consumption by 26% and present us with a 56% increase in global warming figures. So, if we can reuse what we have already dug up in all our daily goods it makes sound economic sense for companies, the planet and you as the end user.

We need to look at greener mobile phones as a necessity and not part of a wish list, their design reveals a deep environmental attitude that other industries should follow. Wouldn’t it make sense then if computer, fridge, dishwaters, stereos microwave manufacturers all followed suit and made their products from recycled materials? What about luxury goods, a top watch or fashion accessory that uses recycled plastic? To do this, would then be seen as the norm whereby customers would be perplexed if an industry used virgin raw material rather second life plastic.

Mobile phones are very personal, but 4G, the software platform or the brand is just the same, if not better, as it’s all pulled together using recycled eco friendly materials. And your carbon impact on the world around you will be so much less.

Not so many years ago the immense fires that blackened the dense forests on the Bitterroot Mountains would have been labeled a severe disaster, millions of board feet of timber down the drain. Many of the trees that were salvageable would have been quickly logged.

But in this land of the environmentally savvy, the management of the publicly owned forests is under a microscope. The biological toll that logging can take on a landscape is well known, a toll that is especial!) Harsh on a forest hit hard by high-intensity fires. So in its struggle to cut and sell trees burned in the enormous fires of the summer of 2000, the United States Forest Service finds itself trying to convince environmentalists that Hublot Replica careful logging is not only benign, but critical to the forests’ recovery am protection. The service, which is responsible for both forest health and selling timber, has proposed salvaging 176 million board feet of ponderosa pine other trees - more than three times as much as would normally be sold in the area.

Environmentalists, however, are not buying the notion that the forest must be logged to save it, at least not on the scale the Forest Service proposes They challenged the sale on a procedural issue, and in early January a federal judge agreed and stopped the project. On Jan. 16 the Fore Service said it would appeal, and asked the judge to allow five “emergency sales to go ahead.

During “the Ninth Five-year Plan” period (1996 - 2000), thanks to the recognition of the Party Central Committee and the State Council, China’s environmental protection undertaking achieved tremendous headway: the tendency of the country’s deteriorating industrial pollution was brought under preliminary control, the environment quality in some cities and regions was somewhat improved, and the protection and construction of the ecological environment were strengthened, thus making positive contributions to expediting the sustained, rapid and sound development of the national economy and social progress, and laying a solid foundation for environmental protection in the new century.

One of the most controversial parts of the recovery plan for the burn< area may be the Cartier Replica Watches potential for damage to the soil. Forest Service officials any damage will be minimized by restrictions that allow logging only on frozen and snow-covered ground and by using techniques like helicopter and “Skylab logging that keeps heavy equipment and dragged logs from disturbing soil. B Ken McBride, a forest soils scientist with the Forest Service, who has study soil conditions on the Bitterroot National Forest since 1988, argues that the protections don’t go far enough and that the logging could cause lasting damage. “The organic layer is gone and the soils lose their ability to grow plants,” he said.

Efforts must be intensified to close down and suspend the production of small enterprises that use backward techniques, cause serious resource wastes and pollution and fail to achieve the specified economic scale. In industrial pollution control, we should combine technical renovation with clean production, and integrate the raise of the quality of economic growth and the reduced load of contamination, so as to realize increased production and decreased pollution. For urban environmental protection, major efforts should be exerted to come to proper grips with readjusting the energy structure, with the emphasis placed on solving the problems concerning water, air and garbage pollution. We should continue to boost the construction of model cities that distinguish themselves in environmental protection. In the prevention and control of agricultural pollution, we should combine readjustment of the agricultural structure with the control on agricultural contamination, vigorously develop ecological agriculture, build ecological demonstration areas, and reduce surface and source pollution.

It is estimated that over 1 million drivers will probably be required inside the subsequent 15 many years to adjust with the normal growth of freight.

Why the dramatic increase in truck driving careers? Retiring drivers, a lot more stringent safety regulations intended to take motorists with poor records off the road, and the have to have for trucking organizations to replace several of the drivers that were laid off during the recession starting in 2008. A lot of trucking corporations also have to reject a high percentage of driver applicants since they lack the essential qualifications to meet new requirements.
Trucking organizations will face difficulties finding enough motorists to fill the gap over the following two years. As the economy begins to revive itself, the surplus of applications businesses saw throughout the recession is waning. Depending on how much the economy does pick up above the following 5 years, the industry may face a challenging shortage. Also contributing for the shortage is the increase in retiring motorists; currently one in six motorists are age 55 and above.
The trucking business is also hauling far more freight than ever, with an enhance from 9.8 billion annual tons in 2004 to an expected 13 billion by 2016. The transportation market will remain fairly stable as the nation’s economy depends on the continuous and timely movement and delivery of goods across the country.
As miles driven by drivers raise and a driver shortage occurs, wages will continue to improve for truck driving careers. The current median pay for a driver is $37,730, but an improve may well inspire much more motorists to apply for jobs on the road. Nonetheless, as opportunities enhance, competition for the ideal careers will enhance as well. Truck driving work frequently vary greatly in terms of earnings, weekly work hours, travel specifications, and equipment. Experienced drivers will probably be able to increase their earnings and move into far better positions.
The American Transportation Association is working to aid its members locate new methods to tap into the labor pool, enhance wages and recruit new motorists into the sector. A lot of trucking companies are opening schools for new motorists and increasing the number of pre-hires they provide to graduating students. Other trucking related industries are also ramping up their hiring efforts to meet the increased demand.

This can be a fantastic time for motorists to find their place from the trucking industry and search for that ultimate truck driving job that meets their individual needs, specifications, lifestyle and ideals.
Get a Unique Version of this Article Article Marketing

Also, our troops continue fighting in the Middle East, and our economy continues creating big deficits and the less fortunate suffer.

The SB1070 law proclaimed by the governor of Arizona, Jen Brewer, on April 23, 2010 took effect on July 29th 2010.

For Washington, immigration issues are the sole responsibility of the federal government, and local laws cannot override federal laws. On behalf of the Federal Government and her answer concerning this law, the judge, Susan Bolton rightly demonstrated responsibility of the federal government enforcing immigration laws in this country. However, in reality the context of this Law, has given other states the ability to try to imitate similar laws such as i.e. Florida.

July 29th will go down in history as a day that persecution over immigration will be carried forward with the pretext of legality, but actually racism is the main issue to overcome.

It is a disgrace in this country that preaching the values and respect will allow the state of Arizona to persecute and mistreat those involved in any type of discrimination related to race, color, religion, and ethnicity. The same governor of Arizona, Jen Brewer, signed another law that prohibits the school system to uphold among members of any ethnic group; especially to those targeted primarily to students of a particular racial group, as well as promoting resentment towards others particular groups.

In this state, they expel school children a little over a month before finishing the school year; over one hundred students will abandon school due to controversial measures taken by Arizona’s Governor, included in the anti-immigrant legislation, and enforced by the Department of Education of the state.

I would like to remind you all the damage done to the humanity during Second World War (THE HOLOCAUST). Today, in the 21st century, Arizona legislation is chasing the unprotected groups. Therefore, destroying all families including children unable to finish school.

Recall that Abraham Lincoln was the president during the civil war granting African-American their freedom. Since then, what have we learned? If history repeating itself? How far are we gotten?.

Our national security, our economic recovery and the future of the United States of America and indeed the future of human civilization depends on our country taking leadership. And that, in turn, depends on the United States Senate acting.

This is sending a clear message that a state passed such a heinous law, and any consciences person in this country have a moral obligation to speak about. The mere existence of what I believe in, all human are created equal, this is the foundation of our nation.

They spend most of their time shopping, dressing and exchanging opinions to follow the fashion trends. And they need to keep doing these stuffs as fashion is as mysterious as a blast of wind; you never know when it comes and when it leaves. Then, what are this summers fashion trends?

Summer is full of sunshine and festivities, so its the perfect time for people to entirely release themselves and embrace nature. And this summer, some of the latest fashion trends tend to turn back to a more countryside and nature-inspired background; straw woven bags come to be the most popular fashion handbags for women.

We all know that straw woven handbags are perfect for the beach outfit. They are cute, delicate, lightweight, and also nature-friendly. Their good smell can even remind you of the meadow and forests. The straw woven bags can well match short suits, and sunny dresses with cute over-sized or cute and smaller accessories.

However, its no longer a golden rule to limit the sporting of straw woven handbags to the beach outfit. Instead, its an increasingly popular fashion to bring them onto the streets and enhance the beauty and chic. All you have to do is to learn how to choose the right style and color to fit with your sportswear or romantic maxi dress.

There are many offered straw handbags in the market that vary in color and style. You can find the totes, satchels and also clutches for all events and plenty of colors for every occasion. You can pick pink, orange, green or coffee straw handbags. But among these colors, the most popular and well-loved color is the natural hue of straw. Its more likely to remind you of nature and get you close to it and embrace it.

Fashion is a thing that hard to control and explain, and you can never entirely grasp it. What you have to do is keeping following it and generating your own way of fashion. This summer, you become a chic with the support of straw woven handbags, but what about next summer or this autumn? Could you still take straw bags as your fashion trump? Its hard to say.

I’m a crazy fan of all fashionable things, which include bags, shoes, clothes, dress and cosmetics and so on. Want to know more about her favorite things? Follow her here!

Dear Mr. President,

I would like to take a few minutes of your precious time to consult with you about a very important matter to our nation and especially to four states of the Union. This is regarding the disastrous consequences of the British Petroleum Oil Spill in the Gulf of Mexico and our commitment to demonstrate, at our cost, an advanced new Italian technology that will safely and ecologically decontaminate the affected areas.

We know that you and the government are dedicating all the attention to this important matter, implementing the necessary technologies and resources to mitigate the damage, and at the same time we understand that the BP executives are working around the clock to impede further damage to the Gulf of Mexico and the population in the four states affected. We the citizens of this country thank you, the government, and BP for the tremendous effort to somehow correct the problem.

But the reality expressed by the experts is different and this tragedy will impact even further if we don’t take serious additional steps to diminish the damage. As you may already know, the damage to the marine life and the coast, plus the economic impact to millions of citizens in the four states, will pale compared to the severe health consequences that the acid rain may produce to the population due to the evaporation of the contaminated waters in the Gulf of Mexico.

Taking all of this into consideration and with the only objective to help my country, I would like to kindly propose to you, the government and the BP executives, a new technology from Italy that will ecologically decontaminate, in a large percentage, the water and sand in the affected areas without further damaging the environment. If you or the agency in charge allows us to do a proven demonstration, we are ready and willing to pay the full cost of the test, a few hundred of thousands of dollars, as a contribution to our nation and the State of Florida where we live.

We understand that you and the agencies in charge may have received hundreds of letters with different technologies and all kind of propositions, but we are not asking you to believe in this technology at the moment, we are only requesting you to give us the opportunity to prove this technology works at no cost for the well being of our nation.

I would like to thank you in advance for your consideration and taking the time to read our letter, please be so kind to contact me at your earliest convenience for further information.

Sincerely yours,

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

As is known, from the May 3, 2010, I had been working on the serious problem that welcomes us in relation to the pollution in our coasts due to the disaster in the Gulf of Mexico this year. Since that date, I been sending letters to both, the President of the United States and to all those governors in the states involved.

Personally, I believe that we cannot continue waiting for the bureaucratic processes without immediate results. (As our habitat and economy are destroyed). Consequently, together with a group of Americans and Europeans entrepreneurs I had taken the decision to accelerate this process and make a free test of effectiveness with our products and technologies that will clean the contaminated areas. This process is to be made as soon as possible on behalf of our nation, for the protection and care it deserves. Our group presented a solution to this tragedy by making available new technologically advanced equipment from Italy that will effectively clean the sand and sea of the Gulf of Mexico.

No entity in charge or the media has mentioned the truly profound consequences of the tragic BP oil spill event. The oil spill contamination is not only destroying the Gulf of Mexico’s marine life for many decades, but it will increase the risk of cancer and other serious diseases that could be fatal to the population of the affected four states of the union due to toxic acid rain. Acid rain will be one of the direct consequences of this devastating accident due to the evaporation of the polluted waters in the Gulf of Mexico.

EFFECTS OF ACID RAIN IN HUMANS:

Mr. Chehade explains that Acid Rain looks, feels, and tastes just like clean rain. The harm to people from acid rain is not direct. However, the pollutants that cause acid rain, sulfur dioxide (SO2) and nitrogen oxides (NOx) do damage human health. These gases interact in the atmosphere to form fine sulfate and nitrate particles that can be transported by the wind, sometimes traveling hundreds of miles and are inhaled deep into people’s lungs. Fine particles can also penetrate indoors. The result is drying of the skin and bacterial infection. This can be unsightly and deadly.

How does Acid Rain affect humans? Many scientific studies have identified a relationship between elevated levels of fine particles and increased illness and premature death from heart and lung disorders, respiratory problems such as asthma and bronchitis, dry coughs, headaches, eye, nose, throat irritations and damage or lungs.

It can cause liver problems and can give you diarrhea. High mercury content can be deadly. The mercury is held in certain organs and tissues of fish and does not directly affect them, but the mercury can be linked to cause brain damage in children along with nerve disorders. Aluminum, which can also be present, leads to kidney problems and to be related to Alzheimer’s disease.

The final effect on humans is to our drinking water. As the content of our water becomes more acidic, it can react with lead and copper water pipes, which eventually contaminate our water. Too much copper in drinking water also causes kidney damage as well as liver damage. - What are some of the indirect effects of acid rain? Acid rain adversely affects lakes and streams, forests and other vegetation, When the soil becomes toxic it is nearly impossible for us to plant our crops. Crops will either die or become toxic. If we consume these unhealthy crops, we will most likely get sick or even die.

REMAX Alliance Group is one of the first real estate companies in the country to demonstrate a commitment to green business practices as well as promoting green home ownership in Southwest Florida.
